##INDIGNATOR

Indignator was an urban intervention to make visible the social discontent expressed on social media. This was done by a volcano that exploded based on the number of tweets with #Indignator.

It was created in a context of deep discontent regarding politics, enterprises and government decisions. Social movements like Occupy Wall Street, 15 M in Spain and the non-violent protests of Arab Spring were taken as referents.

IFTTT was used to link twitter to a Dropbox folder in which tweets were saved. When a certain number of tweets was reached, a thermic printer that was connected to Arduino started to print the tweets and a servo motor activated a blower machine which made the volcano explode with social discontent. This system was inside a 4mm MDF structure with volcano shape of about 1.8 meters.

Main tasks were to lead design research and create the connection system between IFTTT, Dropbox, and the printer.
